The First Room

Saudade House 52 first convened in Andara, Jakarta, with pianist Nial Djuliarso at the piano—establishing the cultural caliber and close-listening spirit of the House from its opening night.

01

The setting

Presented within Green Andara Residence, the first room held the Saudade language from the beginning: intimate, unhurried, and built around the people already inside it.

02

The table

The opening chapter centred a shared evening rather than a conventional programme—allowing conversation, hospitality, and music to form one continuous room.

03

The sound

Nial Djuliarso performed within the gathering. His career has included Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, the North Sea Jazz Festival, and the Montreux Jazz Festival—an early signal of the artistic standard Saudade intends to hold.
